Welcome to the Design Association of NZ Inc
The Design Association of NZ Inc operates a voluntary registration scheme which aims to provide the public with a practical means of identifying a Design Practitioner who is bound by a Code of Ethics, has acceptable professional indemnity insurance cover, and can provide unequivocal evidence of their skills and knowledge of the discipline of design they have successfully practised to the public for a significant length of time.
Our Mission
- To advance the profession of Design and the professional recognition and career development of Design Technologists, Certified Technicians and other members in a manner that serves and protects the public interest.
- Promoting the standards of excellence in Design, in all disciplines.
Our History
- 1945: DANZ was formed originally as the Institute of Survey Draughtsmen and developed into the New Zealand Institute of Draughtsmen
- 1956: The New Zealand Institute of Draughtsmen (NZID) became Incorporated.
- 1995: NZID developed into the Draughting Association of New Zealand Inc.
- 1997: DANZ developed into the Design Association of New Zealand Inc., with a completely modernised Constitution, Board of Directors and National Office.
