INTRODUCTION
The Design Association of New Zealand (DANZ) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information and its correct use.
We have developed this privacy policy to describe when we collect personal information, what we use it for and who we may disclose it to, and to ensure that we comply with our obligations to you under the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993 (the Act) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person).
This policy sets out how we will collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may change this policy when approved by the board of director’s majority by uploading a revised policy onto the website. The change will apply from the date that we upload the revised policy.
WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT
DANZ only collect personal information that you provide to us in the membership form, which is completed when becoming a member of the Association.
HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect and use your personal information to:

We simply will not trade, sell or otherwise disclose any personal information unless legally required to do so.

Data security is of great importance to DANZ, and to protect your personal information we take appropriate steps to maintain the information in a secure environment to prevent unauthorised use.
Personal information records may be paper-based or on computer. Paper-based records are stored in a secure storage unit, and computer records are password protected.
ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You have the right to access the personal information that we hold about you in many circumstances, by making a request.
If any of the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate or out of date, you may ask us to correct it. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us at [email protected].
WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA
The DANZ Yammer Chat Group is a private closed group for members only. This group is monitored by the DANZ administrators. When members of the group resign their membership, they are removed from the group.
The DANZ website member’s area where all members are allocated a login, is a private section of the website, that only members have access too. A login is required to access this portal. When members resign their membership, they are removed from the portal.
